    Duties/Responsibilities

    Job Description:

     

    Mechanical Engineer positions offered by MPR Associates, Inc. (Alexandria, VA). Define root problems, develop and implement project requirements, and prepare project plans. Monitor cost estimates and schedules, perform analysis involving engineering initiatives, and present reports to MPR clients regarding engineering results. Analyze thermal performance and cooling system capabilities of internal combustion engines, and perform analysis of diesel-and natural gas-driven internal combustion engines. Monitor auxiliary systems and generators by utilizing MATLAB/SIMULINK and other software tools and develop and implement MPR engineering processes to perform system modeling of diesel engines.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

     

    Requires a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and 4 months of experience in the position offered or 4 months of experience using C/C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK, ANSYS, Fluent, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models, LabView, Pro-Engineer, and Solidworks computer software tools to solve 2-D and 3-D transient heat transfer analyses and fluid flow problems. Also requires 4 months of experience: interacting directly with clients or research sponsors; and planning and executing instrumented diesel engine performance and emissions tests at an industrial facility or an engine manufacturer, including analyzing the test data.
